Travelling to Morzine

Morzine-Avoriaz, in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, is one of the most accessible ski resorts in the French Alps. The close proximity of Morzine to Geneva airport, Switzerland means that the overall journey is very short. Flights to Geneva from the UK can be as little as 1 hour 20 minutes and the short transfer time of just over an hour makes Morzine-Avoriaz an ideal holiday destination for both families and adult groups alike. The sooner you are here, the sooner you are on your skis or snowboard and up on the snowcapped mountains.

Airline companies change their flight plans regularly, but the following airlines operate flights to Geneva during the winter months, from the UK and Ireland. Easy jet usually provides the cheapest service but do shop around to get the best flight times and offers.

Airport transfers from Geneva

Transfers are not automatically included in the holiday price at Chalet Morzine. We realise you are independent travellers and prefer to tailor your holiday as you wish. However, should you wish to have an airport transfer, we can book this for you. Using our ‘tour operator special rates’ we can offer some of the lowest transfer rates, which is actually cheaper than going direct to the company website. Résultat de recherche d'images pour "skiidy gonzales"

Car hire from Geneva

All international flights come into Geneva on the Swiss side, which is the best for Morzine. Why?

  1. The cars on the Swiss side have the Swiss motorway sticker, which enables you to drive on the motorway to get to Morzine and not the long way round via the lake of Geneva.
  2. It is also far easier to pick up and drop off your car on the Swiss international side as this is where you take your flight from.
  3. The French side may be slightly cheaper, but it’s a very painful walk with luggage and kids through the other side of the airport to get to the car hire and the same for the drop off. People that have done it, swear they will never do it again.
  4. A new law has been introduced stating that swiss registered hire cars cannot be driven over the border into France. The car hire companies are getting around this by getting in French and German registered cars, but be aware of this when hiring.
