Its the big week for the ESF. 3 days of events are scheduled this week to celebrate the 75th Anniversay of the French Ski school.From 5pm on Tuesday night, a snowbar will be set up in front of the ski school, so you can come down and enjoy a drink with your ski instructor. There will also be some traditional music to get into the spirit of things.
A ski retrospective from 1900 to 2014 will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:30pm on the stade. This is where the ski instructors demonstrate how skiing has developed over the years from the early 1900’s to now, with traditional ski outfits from years gone by. However, that is not all. As its a special celebration, there will be ski joeering, explanations of the pleney cable car, the rattracks that piste the pistes….etc, all with a musical and light show.
An ESF torchlight parade will take place on Thursday evening at 7:15pm. More than 200 ski instructors will ski down from the top of Nyon and the top of Pléney to catch up at the bottom of Pleney slope and finish all together in front of the Tourist office. 2 bars will be set and music will be played in Morzine. To celebrate this anniversary, there will be a firework from the village.
